A new survey of bosses in the UK has found you may want to save that smoky-eye for the weekend.
More than a third of bosses, both male and female, said some of their staff wear too much make-up to work, according to the poll by officebroker.com.
Bright red lips, overdone eyes and too much blush were the biggest make-up culprits, the survey found.
Not the classic red lip, surely?!
But wait! Thankfully the bosses surveyed don't expect you to come to work totally bare-faced.
Nearly all said wearing a small amount of make-up was acceptable.
"The common theme was that less really was more when it came to professional appearance," a spokesperson for the website said.
But what exactly is 'less is more'? CLEO's Beauty Editor Rachael Mannell advises playing up just one feature, e.g a bold lip or a smoky-eye.
“The office is not a nightclub" Rachael says. "Nightclub lighting is dim and therefor quite flattering. Office lighting on the other hand is bright and unforgiving, so all makeup is visible" she explains.
"I would caution heavy foundation and overly made-up eyes, but if you love expressing yourself via makeup looks, stick to bright statement lips, shimmery eye shadow in soft tones, coloured liner or a pop of colour on the cheeks."
How much make-up do you wear to work? We're talking about it right now on Facebook and Twitter.
