Yes, it is possible to look glam for the cost of a movie ticket! Check out these money-saving tips from our beauty editor...

For face

Foundation brushes can cost up to $100! Don’t freak out. Our fave happens to be on the lower end of the price scale – Australis Perfection Brush On Foundation, $17.95. It gives a flawless finish, thanks to the built-in brush and glide-on formula. Apply strokes evenly then pat with fingers.

For cheeks

Bronzer with a hint of sparkle is pretty, but a matt bronzer will emphasise cheekbones in a more natural way, ensuring the whole look is simple yet classy.
Maybelline Expert Wear Blush, $15.50, is your answer.

For hair

Nothing says glam like flowing supermodel waves. To ensure your blow-dry lasts all night, apply V05 Mega Hold Styling Mousse, $4.30, to damp hair before styling. Too easy.

For eyes

Recreate Nic’s sexy eyes for less than two movie tickets! Rich bronze shadows look amazing with any eye colour, so blend BYS Eye Shadow Mousse, $8.95, over the lid and also along the bottom lashline. Define the shape with Australis Eye Pencil in Black, $8.95, by lining the inner and outer edge of the top and bottom lashes.

Follow with a coat of Mwah! Never Underestimate The Power Of Long Eyelashes Mascara, $5. Red-carpet eyes!

For lips

Even if your eyes are the focus, it doesn’t mean you should ignore your lips. Subtle is still very sexy. Choose a soft shade of gloss for a fresh, pretty look. To air kiss with confidence, try a fresh breath gloss, such as Covergirl Wetslicks AmazeMint, $12.95.

  • V05 styling mousse or hairsprays aren't the nicest products for hair. Left my hair a sticky mess. Definately cheap and nasty. Invest a big of money (around $20) on some products (even just from Price Attack) and your money will be much better spent!

  • i use vo5 90% of the time and because i have untamable (think and curly)hair it really does do a good job,the trick is make sure your hair is not dry in places make sure its wet, so don't towel it dry to much and then blow dry it curly or straight or just leave it to dry itself.

  • Although the Australis Brush Foundation is great value for money..you need to be mindful not to squeeze too much product otherwise you will end up streaky!

  • another great beauty bargain is Australis Perfect Brush Lip & Cheek Tint. I've tried the Renaissance Red one and it's far far superior to my Revlon's Just Bitten in cherry tart, which I rarely use and cost me $27! It has a nice colour + rose smell, and the brush allows for controlled application, and at $8.76 it's a real winner!

  • Body Shop also have a great foundation brush that's not too expensive.
