Question:

I am a very curvy person (size 10 to 12) and I'm still still trying to find the best clothes that suit my body shape. Please help! from Lee

Answer:

Curvy body shapes should be flaunted with pride! Take a look at curvy celebs such as Beyonce, Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson for inspiration.

Like all body shapes, it’s best to accentuate your good bits whilst discreetly covering any figure flaws. Opt for v necks or scooped necklines, frilled sleeves and detailing on your top half to draw attention above your waistline.

A-line shapes work best for your bottom half, as do straight leg or bootcut jeans. The trick is to balance your overall shape without any clingy or oversized fabrics. So be sure to avoid lycra and voluminous shapes. Good luck!

  • I agree - I always thought that a size 10 was on the small side, not curvy.

  • Babe im a 10-12 and I find the trick to wearing anything is just to know your shape... i go for tops like cotton singlets with a v or scoop neck, pretty feminine simple tops help minimise not enhance. i find volume makes me look bigger i stay away from shapeless or hanging fabrics, or things with too much detail.. The trick is to wear clothes that shape in to the right bits and skim over the unflattering bits..

  • Curvy isn't a size 10-12 curvy is a 14+ either way try wearing belts around the waist, it excentuates all the right things and gives you more curves
